Synopsis: Kaoru Touno's family is falling apart. After the death of a sibling and the divorce of her parents, she no longer feels at peace at home. After a heated confrontation with his father, Kaoru runs away from his home and finds himself in front of a mysterious tunnel, which pulls him inside. Amazed by what he sees inside, he rushes outside, picking up a bird that looks like his dead body. Pets on his way out.
After getting out, Kaoru realizes that even though he only spent a few minutes inside the tunnel, an entire week has passed. The strange experience leads him to remember the rumor of the "Urashima Tunnel" - a passage that grants wishes in exchange for one's lifetime. In the wake of her pet bird's resurgence, Kaoru can't help but wonder if another visit might help fix her messed-up life.
However, when he returns to the mysterious tunnel entrance, Kaoru realizes that he has been followed by Anzu Hanashiro, a new transfer student in his class. He also knows about the rumor and asks her to help him with an experiment—it turns out he also has a wish that only the tunnel can grant.
